CNC Lathe Setup Operator
(Evening Shift)
Join a self-managed team as a CNC Setup Operator responsible for preparing and overseeing machine setups, ensuring smooth production before, during, and after operations, following established procedures and work instructions.
Shift:
Monday to Thursday, 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM (4 x 10 hours)
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor setup times and inform the supervisor if objectives are at risk. Ensure all tooling received matches program requirements and work orders.
- Record programming changes and notify the programmer and supervisor of any modifications or issues.
- Ensure setups run smoothly; involve supervisor or team lead as needed.
- Report any tool replacements or incidents.
- Confirm that operators are ready for autonomous work; operate machines if necessary.
- Act as a certified operator.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to troubleshoot setup or production issues.
- Perform daily and preventive maintenance on machines.
- Follow factory regulations and health & safety rules.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
Skills & Experience
- DEP in machining or equivalent, with at least 7 years of CNC lathe experience.
- Proactive, respectful, committed, and able to work effectively in a team.
- Results-oriented with strong client focus.
- Organized, resourceful, creative, and quality-conscious.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience on Swiss-type lathes is an asset.
