Production Manager

Our client, a manufacturing company with over 125 employees located in Laval, is currently seeking a Production Manager to oversee its manufacturing operations and contribute to the optimization of its production activities.

Reporting to senior management, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling production activities to ensure operational objectives are achieved, deadlines are met, and product quality standards are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily production activities and ensure compliance with quality, productivity, and safety standards;
  • Plan the human, material, and technical resources required to meet production objectives;
  • Lead and motivate supervisors, team leaders, and production employees;
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement initiatives to optimize processes;
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, problem-solving);
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when required;
  • Collaborate with various departments (quality, maintenance, procurement, logistics, and sales) to ensure efficient production flow;
  • Participate in strategic decision-making related to manufacturing operations;
  • Monitor production budgets and control operational costs;
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture within the organization.

Qualifications

  • College or university degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar production management role;
  • Proven experience supervising manufacturing teams;
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement principles and Lean Manufacturing;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools;
  • Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written.
