CNC Programmer / Operator – Lathe

Our client, a Montreal-based CNC machine shop specializing in product introduction, prototyping, and production machining is currently hiring a CNC Programmer / Operator.


Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC turning and/or lathe programming and setup. Programming knowledge is required.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc and/or Mitsubishi controls.
  • English and/or French proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and program CNC machine instructions using CAD/CAM software.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines for various machining operations.
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and the production team to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve CNC machine issues as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a CNC Programmer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and G-code programming.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is an asset.

Additional information

  • Program and set up CNC lathes (priority)
  • Perform first-piece setups and on-floor production tasks
  • Occasional CNC milling work (secondary, only if lathe workload is light)
  • Hands-on role: programmer also performs machine setup; not just remote programming
