CNC Lathe Setup Operator

(Evening Shift)

Join a self-managed team as a CNC Setup Operator responsible for preparing and overseeing machine setups, ensuring smooth production before, during, and after operations, following established procedures and work instructions.

Shift:
Monday to Thursday, 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM (4 x 10 hours)

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor setup times and inform the supervisor if objectives are at risk. Ensure all tooling received matches program requirements and work orders.
  • Record programming changes and notify the programmer and supervisor of any modifications or issues.
  • Ensure setups run smoothly; involve supervisor or team lead as needed.
  • Report any tool replacements or incidents.
  • Confirm that operators are ready for autonomous work; operate machines if necessary.
  • Act as a certified operator.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to troubleshoot setup or production issues.
  • Perform daily and preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Follow factory regulations and health & safety rules.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings accurately.

Skills & Experience

  • DEP in machining or equivalent, with at least 7 years of CNC lathe experience.
  • Proactive, respectful, committed, and able to work effectively in a team.
  • Results-oriented with strong client focus.
  • Organized, resourceful, creative, and quality-conscious.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience on Swiss-type lathes is an asset.
