CNC Setup Operator / Machine Setter (Evening Shift)
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a client in the precision manufacturing industry for a CNC Setup Operator / Machine Setter to join an autonomous and experienced production team.
The selected candidate will play a key role in machine setup operations and in maintaining strict control over production activities before, during, and after manufacturing, while ensuring compliance with established procedures and work instructions.
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday
- 3:15 PM to 1:45 AM
- 4-day workweek (4 x 10-hour shifts)
Compensation
- $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Additional evening shift premium of $1.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Verify setup times and report any issues that may impact production targets;
- Ensure tooling received matches programming requirements and work orders;
- Document and record any program modifications and communicate changes to the programmer and supervisor;
- Complete incident reports related to tool replacements or adjustments;
- Assess and validate operator readiness before transferring machine responsibility, providing support when required;
- Operate assigned equipment as a certified machine operator;
- Participate in troubleshooting and technical problem-solving alongside team members and supervisors;
- Perform daily and preventive maintenance on machine tools;
- Read and interpret manufacturing drawings accurately;
- Carry out other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Machining Technology (or equivalent manufacturing experience);
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience;
- Swiss-type lathe experience is considered a strong asset;
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings;
- Results-oriented with a customer-service mindset;
- Organized, autonomous, resourceful, and detail-oriented;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
