Our client, a manufacturing company with over 125 employees located in Laval, is currently looking for an Electromechanic to join its maintenance team. The company operates two facilities located less than one kilometer apart and has equipment including injection molding presses, robotic cells, and precision CNC machining centers.
Reporting to the Electromechanical Team Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation of production equipment by performing interventions involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems. This position is open to both junior and intermediate-level candidates — the company ideally seeks an intermediate profile but remains open to a junior candidate with strong potential.
What You Will Do
- Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and proportional hydraulic systems
- Identify root causes of production downtime
- Perform and improve preventive and predictive maintenance routines
- Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings
- Perform first-level troubleshooting on PLCs, operator interfaces, and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Participate in the commissioning of new equipment projects
- Perform adjustment, machining, and welding tasks as required
- Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment reliability
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (reducing breakdowns, improving efficiency, enhancing safety)
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed interventions
Required Profile
- DEP or DEC in Electromechanics, Automated Systems Maintenance, or Industrial Maintenance
- 3 to 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems
- Experience with basic PLC and operator interface troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving skills, autonomy, and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Assets
- Experience with injection molding presses (Engel, Arburg, or equivalent)
- Experience with Cartesian or 6-axis robots
- Experience with precision CNC machining centers (Röders, Mikron, or equivalent)
- French-English bilingualism
- C License (outside of construction)
- Experience in IATF-certified or medical manufacturing environments
Benefits & Conditions
- Hourly rate between $28 and $32/hour, depending on experience
- Day shift position, with occasional schedule adjustments (approximately 40 hours/week)
