CNC Setup Operator / Machine Setter (Evening Shift)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a client in the precision manufacturing industry for a CNC Setup Operator / Machine Setter to join an autonomous and experienced production team.

The selected candidate will play a key role in machine setup operations and in maintaining strict control over production activities before, during, and after manufacturing, while ensuring compliance with established procedures and work instructions.

Schedule

• Monday to Thursday
• 3:15 PM to 1:45 AM
• 4-day workweek (4 x 10-hour shifts)

Compensation

• $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Additional evening shift premium of $1.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Verify setup times and report any issues that may impact production targets;
• Ensure tooling received matches programming requirements and work orders;
• Document and record any program modifications and communicate changes to the programmer and supervisor;
• Complete incident reports related to tool replacements or adjustments;
• Assess and validate operator readiness before transferring machine responsibility, providing support when required;
• Operate assigned equipment as a certified machine operator;
• Participate in troubleshooting and technical problem-solving alongside team members and supervisors;
• Perform daily and preventive maintenance on machine tools;
• Read and interpret manufacturing drawings accurately;
• Carry out other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Machining Technology (or equivalent manufacturing experience);
• Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience;
• Swiss-type lathe experience is considered a strong asset;
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings;
• Results-oriented with a customer-service mindset;
• Organized, autonomous, resourceful, and detail-oriented;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
