Responsibilities

The role of a conventional machinist is key in the production of high-precision mechanical components. Your tasks will include:

  • Machining parts in small or large series using various equipment: lathe, milling machine, drill, saw, grinder, etc.
  • Setting up and adjusting machines according to technical instructions.
  • Reading and accurately interpreting technical drawings.
  • Designing and building simple jigs or fixtures to facilitate machining.
  • Inspecting finished parts using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Providing technical support to colleagues when needed.
  • Carrying out any other related duties.

Desired Profile

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in conventional machining or a diploma in machining techniques (DEP).
  • Self-taught applicants with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of reading technical drawings and mechanical tolerances.
  • CNC machining training or experience is an asset.
  • Attention to detail, autonomy, and team spirit.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks is an advantage.
  • Organized, meticulous, and technically curious.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks.
