Windows System Administrator

We are currently looking for a Windows system administrator for a client located in the West Island of Montreal.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.

  • Second level support (hardware and software) to all users on-site and remotely.

  • Tracking of incidents and the follow-up of user requests.

  • Basic training to end users, installing and monitoring servers, services and the network infrastructure

  • Taking necessary actions to resolve issues.

  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes

  • Identify, research, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

  • Monitor the IT infrastructure, servers and services and ensure alerts are addressed and resolved

  • Document the IT systems & processes

  • Building and installing the new employee workstations, onboarding tutorials

  • Respond to customer requests via telephone calls, emails and ticket system requests

  • Offer a high level of customer service for users with various degrees of technical proficiency

  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction

  • Report to management on recurring monitoring alerts

  • Carry out all other related tasks

  • Responding to emergency calls, paid with banked time.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • College diploma in information technology, or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in Systems and Network administration

  • Bilingualism in English and French (oral and written)

  • Excellent knowledge of Windows 10, Windows Server 2012/2016 and Office/Microsoft 365

  • Experience with SharePoint/SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Endpoint manager

  • Knowledge of Active Directory & Azure AD

  • Experience with virtualization VMware / Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization

  • Strong Networking knowledge (TCP/IP,DHCP,DNS,WAN,LAN,WiFi,VPN)

  • Knowledge in Cisco VoIP telephony

  • Knowledge of Cisco Networking technology

  • Experience in IT support functions

  • Experience with scripting and automation tools

  • Demonstrated customer service skills

  • Good interpersonal skills (calm, tact, diplomacy)

  • Ability to simplify and convey technical information to users

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • MCSA or MCP certification is an asset

  • Cisco certification is an asset
