Machinist – Milling / Boring
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Machinist specializing in milling and/or boring operations to join our production team. The ideal candidate is a skilled tradesperson with strong hands-on experience in precision machining and a solid understanding of industrial manufacturing environments.
This position involves initial training on the day shift, followed by a transition to the evening shift.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up CNC and/or conventional machines for milling and boring operations
- Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
- Ensure parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards
- Perform routine machine adjustments and basic maintenance
- Conduct quality checks using precision measuring tools
- Follow production schedules and maintain efficiency targets
- Work collaboratively with production and quality teams
Requirements
- Proven experience as a machinist (milling and/or boring)
- Strong understanding of machining processes and metal cutting operations
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
Work Schedule
- Initial training on day shift
- Transition to evening shift after training period
