Conventional and CNC Machinist – Day Shift

Our client, a company specializing in mechanical repair as well as parts machining, is looking for an experienced Machinist to support major projects across Quebec, including hydroelectric, mining, and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional and CNC machine tools
• Machine parts in a repair context
• Machine new parts according to client specifications and technical drawings
• Perform other related machinist duties

Required Qualifications

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in machining techniques or Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience in a machine shop
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a machinist
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Organized, versatile, and resourceful
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail

Assets

• Basic knowledge of CNC programming
• Experience in repair and fabrication of mechanical components
• Ability to read technical drawings in English
• Knowledge of conversational CNC programming

Machines Used

• Horizontal conventional lathe, 14m length (4 dollar premium)
• Vertical CNC lathe (Fagor), table diameter 6.5m (5 dollar premium)
• Vertical conventional lathe, table diameter 3.6m (4 dollar premium)

Working Conditions

• Salary: 31.14 to 37.63 dollars per hour
• Equipment premium: 2 to 5 dollars per hour
• Overtime: time and a half and double time depending on period
• Salary progression after 2000 hours with indexation
• Seniority bonus after 5, 10, 15, and 20 years (up to 4 dollars)
• Flexible schedule: 4 or 5 days per week
