About the role
A well-established heavy equipment service organization is currently seeking a Welder-Machinist to join its workshop team. This role is essential within the service department, providing technical expertise in the repair, fabrication, and refurbishment of components and structures used in heavy machinery.
This position is based in a high-performing industrial environment where safety, quality, and uptime are top priorities.
Available schedules: rotating or fixed shifts (including 7/7 or 5/2 options)

Typical responsibilities
- Demonstrate safe, responsible, and environmentally conscious work practices at all times, in line with internal HSE policies
- Operate electric, oxy-fuel, and semi-automatic welding equipment, as well as automated cutting systems
- Perform high-quality repair and refurbishment work on heavy equipment components, respecting established technical standards and turnaround expectations
- Use conventional machine tools for precision boring operations on heavy equipment parts and attachments
- Operate mobile line-boring equipment (including Climax-style systems) for axle and component repair work
Required qualifications
- Post-secondary training in welding with certifications in GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW
- Strong experience as a machinist working with heavy equipment or diesel-powered systems
- Proficiency with conventional machining tools
- Experience in line-boring operations considered a strong asset
