CNC Programmer
ManufacturingSkilled Trades and Machining
Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking a CNC Programmer / Engineering Technician to join their operations team. This role is key to developing, implementing, and optimizing CNC programming to support production requirements, control costs, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
CNC Programmer Functions
- • Develop, implement, and maintain CNC programs for 3/4/5-axis grinding and milling machines.
- • Manage CNC programming library, revisions, and compliance with ISO and customer audits.
- • Conduct time studies, standardize operator work, and compare performance to cost models.
- • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fixturing, CNC parameters, and tooling.
- • Utilize SPC and process capability methods to improve first-pass yields.
- • Support capital equipment projects, working with customers and machine manufacturers.
- • Identify performance gaps using QSI data and implement process improvements.
- • Assist with cost estimates for both repeat production and new product introduction (NPI).
- • Collaborate with engineering, operations, customers, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
- • Participate actively in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- • Provide technical support to shop floor personnel.
CNC Programmer Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- • Minimum 3 years’ experience in engineering or operations within a manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- • Aerospace industry experience.
- • CNC programming expertise (AutoCAD / Parasolid).
- • Knowledge of SPC and statistical process analysis software.
- • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
- • Strong math skills (including trigonometry).
