CNC Operator

Role Summary

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the CNC Operator will cut steel components according to production instructions and ensure finished parts meet the company’s quality standards.


Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • CNC-related training (considered an asset)
  • 1–2 years of experience in a comparable position
  • Experience in the metal or steel industry (asset)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Comfortable working with both metric and imperial measurements
  • Proficient with measuring instruments, hoists, and cranes
  • Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards in a production setting

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC plasma cutting machinery to process steel components
  • Inspect cut quality, label parts, and maintain documentation
  • Safely handle steel materials and scrap using overhead cranes
  • Ensure consumables and cutting gases are properly set up
  • Monitor consumable usage and replace parts as needed, reporting any irregular wear
  • Change and connect gas cylinders in accordance with safety procedures
  • Perform basic maintenance on cutting tables, heads, and filtration systems
  • Support other production tasks as required
